To give an indication of the way Ashoka assists its Fellow, below is an overview of our Fellowship activities and how many Fellows benefited from each type of activity in the last year. With our support, Ashoka Arab World accelerates the Fellow’s progress as an innovative thinker, a non-profit leader, a participant in collaborative initiatives, and as a member of an international community of like-minded individuals.

In the near future, we want to provide more specified activities to cater to our Fellow’s organizational needs, according to their level of expertise in practically bringing about social change. According to Fellows’ specific needs, Ashoka will help them out with capacity building, collaboration and expansion and visibility and networking.


Ashoka’s Capacity Building Activities are divided intro three groups according to their specific needs.

-       Group 1: Early-Launch or New Fellows. We provide activities to these Fellows to improve their fundraising and proposal writing skills, business planning skills, their outreach and advocacy capacities and legal knowledge.

-       Group 2: Mid-Cycle Fellows. These Fellows are engaged in trainings that give them advanced management skills, product marketing skills and give them a better grasp of how to use IT to further their idea.

-       Group 3: Advanced Fellows. These are Fellows that have established themselves and their new idea, and are ready to scale up to continue with their success. Ashoka engages them with courses that focus on financial management and projection, organizational management and business plans.

Capacity Building Workshops

To achieve increased Visibility and Networking for both the Fellows and itself, Ashoka is organizing the following activities:

-       Roundtable Discussions

-       Training and orientation for Media Representatives

-       Media Competition

-       Networking through exchange between Fellows


In order to improve the Fellows’ Collaboration and Expansion, Ashoka intends to:

-       Conduct a competition for scaling up and collaborative projects each year.

Provide funding and technical assistance to individual and groups of Fellows which will expedite their success for more impact.
