Vision

Ashoka envisions a world where everyone is a changemaker : a world that responds quickly and effectively to social challenges, and where each individual has the freedom, confidence and societal support to address any social problem and drive change.  We want to bring about a change in the existing mentality, to instill the notion that everyone can be a social entrepreneur, creating effective and systemic social change within his or her field and region. The only things that are needed are commitment, passion, creativity and originality.

Ashoka wants to realize this by shaping a Citizen Sector that is entrepreneurial, productive and globally integrated.

Mission

Ashoka wants to shape a global, entrepreneurial, competitive Citizen Sector one that allows social entrepreneurs to thrive and enables the world’s citizens to think and act as changemakers. We want to do this by the active inclusion, promotion and development of the Citizen Sector as the key agent to bring about self-sufficient social change. We strive to promote social change in the broadest sense possible, both by bridging the gap between the civic and business sector through various programs, and by empowering pioneers in the field of social entrepreneurship: our Fellows.
